Homecoming 2014!

Duquesne University students are excited to “Rejuvenate the Spirit” at Homecoming 2014.

This year’s Homecoming schedule is bigger and better than ever, extending to a week-long celebration for the entire Duquesne Community.

Some of the week’s highlights include:

Spirit Board Contest
Sunday, Sept. 28, 35 p.m, A-Walk
Paint boards to show school spirit. Prizes will be awarded for the best boards. What a great opportunity for Greeks, student organizations, and LLC floors to get together!

Homecoming King & Queen Voting
Don’t forget to vote on Campus Link for the 2014 Homecoming Royalty. Court will be announced at the Pep Rally and the King and Queen will be crowned at the Homecoming Football Game.

Battle of the Banks: Campus Blood Drive
Tuesday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Power Center, 4th Floor
Donate blood through the American Red Cross and help Duquesne raise more blood than our Homecoming opponents, West Liberty University.

University Birthday Celebration
Wednesday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m.–3 p.m., A-Walk
Celebrate 136 years of Duquesne University by visiting the birthday booths on A-Walk. Play some games, sign the birthday banner and tell us what you LOVE about Duquesne!

Cram the Library
Wednesday, Oct. 1, 9–11 p.m., Gumberg Library
How many students can we “cram” into Gumberg Library?  Different activities on each floor –food, prizes, & fun!

BBQ, Powder Puff Game & Pep Rally
Thursday, Oct. 2, 6:30 p.m., Rooney Field
Come out and “tailgate” before the annual Powder Puff game and get ready for the big reveal of your 2014 Homecoming Court. Spirit Board winners will also be announced.

Trivia Night
Friday, Oct. 3, 8 p.m., The Red Ring
Get your team together and test your Duquesne knowledge! Sponsored by DPC.

Saturday, Oct. 4, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., A-Walk
It’s a carnival on A-Walk with student organization booths, food and fun activities.

Rally to Rooney
Saturday, Oct. 4, 12:30 p.m., A-Walk
Rejuvenate the spirit and join the Red & Blue Crew, Pep Band, Cheerleaders, Former Athletes, Alumni Board of Governors, Veterans, and more as we rally down A-Walk to get pumped for the Football game.

Dukes vs. West Liberty Football Game
Saturday, Oct. 4, 1:00 p.m., Rooney Field
Come out and cheer on the Dukes during the biggest Homecoming tradition. The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at halftime.

Battle of the Bands
Saturday, Oct. 4, 8 p.m., Union Ballroom
Dance the night away and watch your fellow students rock out. This is a don’t miss event!
