The brothers of Alpha Phi Delta sponsored the annual 2013 Valentine’s Charity Ball which was held on Saturday, February 9 at the Duquesne University Union Ballroom. Approximately 300 people were in attendance for the event, these included active members of APD as well as alumni, parents, faculty and staff. Executive Vice President for Student Life, Rev. Sean Hogan C.S.Sp., presented the brothers of APD with a painting of the Alpha Phi Delta crest to honor their upcoming centennial anniversary as well as all of the charitable efforts APD has put into raising funds and awareness for the ALS Association. APD dedicated the 2013 “VBall” in memory of their past Alpha Phi Delta Psi chapter advisor and brother, Dr. Michael Cahill, who lost his battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS). The brothers were able to raise over $6,000.00 for the ALS Association. It was a lovely evening and the brothers pulled together an elegant event for a wonderful and personal cause. The Office of Greek Life thanks them for their philanthropic service.
