Nov. 2, 2013 was the date of this year’s Carnival. All chapters in the social sororities and fraternities were represented and paired for performances with each other as well as representation from the professional fraternal organizations.
The 2013 winners were:
Best Overall Performance: Alpha Sigma Tau/Alpha Delta/Sigma Tau Gamma for Oz Revisited
Best Choreography: Alpha Sigma Tau/Alpha Delta/Sigma Tau Gamma
Best Actor: Chris Kriak of Phi Kappa Theta
Best Actress: Sophie White of Alpha Sigma Tau
Best Supporting Actor: Ed Miller of Sigma Nu
Best Supporting Actress: Amy Kerlin of Alpha Sigma Tau
Best Script: Sigma Kappa and Alpha Tau Omega
Best Prop Design: Sigma Kappa and Alpha Tau Omega
Best Vocals: Lea Tsoubanos of Sigma Kappa
Best Costumes: Zeta Tau Alpha/Phi Kappa Theta/Alpha Epsilon Pi
Peoples’ Choice Award: Alpha Sigma Tau/Alpha Delta/Sigma Tau Gamma
Greek Unity Award: Alpha Gamma Delta/Sigma Alpha Epsilon
There were over 600 students and greater campus community members in attendance. We have already held a wrap-up meeting and started planning for 2014 Carnival which will have some interesting changes!
The judges for the 2013 Carnival were: Professor John Lane of the Theater Arts Dept, Candace Okello of Residence Life, Anthony Kane our Student Life administration intern, Lauren Moran from University Advancement; Michelle McDermott, Student Conduct intern; former Miss Pennsylvania USA and Point Park graduate student Elena LaQuatra.
