On Thursday, March 20, a new statue was dedicated in St. Ann Hall in the memory of Veronica and Ann Wasilko. A reception and dedication ceremony was held in the lobby of St. Ann Hall to celebrate the addition, which highlights our rich Catholic tradition. St. Ann was chosen as the patron saint of the residence hall when it opened in 1963 as an upperclassmen female residence. She is the patron Saint of many varied things, such as carpenters, grandparents, childless couples, equestrians, miners and homemakers. St. Ann is most widely known for being the grandmother of Jesus and mother of Mary. The Catholic Church recognizes St. Ann’s feast day as July 26.
