On Oct. 12, 2013, our Alpha Phi chapter put on their 7th annual Red Dress Gala. Red Dress Gala is a charity ball complete with a fashion show, music, a speaker, and a sit down dinner, with all proceeds benefiting women’s heart health. This year approximately 300 people attended and $3500 was raised for this great cause. Congrats on a job well done Alpha Phi!
The Alpha Phi Foundation has a mission to empower women to be generous givers by raising and awarding funds for programs that advance leadership development, encourage academic excellence, improve women’s heart health, support sisters in need, preserve heritage, and educate about the value of philanthropy. The Foundation supports programs and research that study heart disease in women – specifically its symptoms, its treatment, and its prevention. The Alpha Phi Epsilon Iota chapter at Duquesne University raised over $3,500 at this year’s gala event for local, heart-health projects.
