Duquesne Athletics Captures Four Fall Championships; Volleyball Qualifies for NCAA Championship

When a University wins a team championship at the Division I level, it is a big accomplishment.  Well, your Duquesne Dukes were able to secure four team titles during the fall sports season as the volleyball team captured the Atlantic 10 regular season crown and won the Atlantic 10 post-season tournament, the women’s cross country won the Atlantic 10 title, and football finished as co-champions of the Northeast Conference. Cross Country Runner Jim Spisak Competes at NCAA Championship

Senior Jim Spisak completed his illustrious collegiate cross country career by placing 59th of 245 runners with a time of 30:25 at the 2012 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships held November 17 in Louisville, Kent.

Spisak, who is the third DU runner in school history to qualify for NCAA’s in cross country, turned in the highest finish ever by a Duquesne runner at the national championship event.
