Health Service welcomed the 2012-2013 academic year with the implementation of a state-of-the-art Electronic Medical Records system, to which students have responded quite positively. The system also has the capability of adding interactive features for students to further enhance our delivery of medical care. Additionally, a new Director was appointed, and three new staff members were hired, including a Nurse Practitioner, a Staff RN, (both of whom are Duquesne alumnae), and a Campus Relations RN who oversees outreach to residence halls, organizations and events throughout the campus. Another new feature in our department is the introduction of the “RN Triage and Advice” telephone extension which allows students to speak directly with a Staff Nurse to answer questions, provide advice and schedule appointments with the appropriate clinical staff.
