Commuters Participate in the Annual Color Run

On Saturday, Nov. 15, 30 commuter students attended the Color Run held on the North Shore at Heinz Field and PNC Park.  The Color Run, also known as the Happiest 5K on the Planet, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, and individuality.  The Color Run is a for profit company that works to partner with charities and help shine a light on their extraordinary work within society, and has raised donations for over 80 local and national charities.

Commuter Pre-Orientation


Over 100 new students attended Commuter Pre-Orientation on Tuesday, Aug. 19. The pre-orientation program assisted commuter students in getting to know their Commuter Assistant, the Office of Commuter Affairs staff, other commuters and to become more familiar with campus. Continue reading

Commuters Celebrate Thanksgiving

Commuter Assistants and Commuter Council held their annual Potluck Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 21 in the newly renovated Commuter Center, located on the first floor of the Duquesne Union.  Commuter students sat down with members of the Duquesne administration and faculty for a Thanksgiving feast filled with great food and conversation!

Commuter Pre-Orientation

Over 100 new undergraduate commuter students attended Commuter Pre-Orientation on Tuesday, Aug. 20. This program assisted commuting students in getting to know their Commuter Assistant, the Office of Commuter Affairs staff, other commuter students and the campus. Commuter Pre-Orientation was an information-packed day which helped provide new students with the necessary tools to become active and participating members of the Duquesne community.

Duquesne Union First Floor Renovation

Over the summer the entire first floor of the Duquesne Union was renovated. The Commuter Center was completely re-done and some new features include a kitchenette in the main lounge area, and an expanded “sleeping or lounging” area. The NiteSpot, student organization offices, and the 1st floor common areas were also part of the renovation project. Be sure to visit the “new” and “improved” Commuter Center!
