
Black History Month was first recognized as “Negro History Week” by African American Scholar—Dr. Carter G. Woodson in 1926. In 1976, Black History Month was expanded to include the entire month of February. Office of Multicultural Affairs Pre-Orientation
The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) hosted their annual OMA Pre-Orientation Program (Pre-O) on August 20 and August 21. Pre-O is designed to connect students of diverse backgrounds with a reliable network of support that will aid in their social and academic transition into the Duquesne University campus community. An outstanding group of returning students served as Pre-O Leaders and facilitators of the various workshops, panel discussions, and team builders. The incoming students and their parents communicated that they valued the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and DU Alumni. Continue reading
