Elections for Commuter Council, Residence Hall Association and Student Government Association will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Be sure to log on to Campus Link to cast your votes for next year’s student leaders! The Installation Ceremony will be held in the Power Center Ballroom on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) recently concluded an effort in the residence halls to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy. With numerous Duquesne students coming from areas hardest hit by the storm, RHA members believed that raising money for the victims was a great way to serve both the mission of RHA and the mission of the University. Aramark Dining Services was very gracious and served plenty of tailgate food, such as corn on the cob, chicken wings, hot sausage, pierogies, buffalo chicken pizza and much more!
Students were able to sign up for free raffles to get various Duquesne gear such as hats, a scarf, water bottle, banner and hoodie. Along with the free raffles, members gave out red and blue beads, pride tattoos and offered face painting to the students.
The amount of students that attended the tailgate in the dining hall was approximately 1200!
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) serves as the representative student governing body for Duquesne’s Living Learning Centers. Residence Hall Association was organized to ensure an atmosphere conducive to positive group and individual experiences for resident students. During the 2010-11 academic year, a new initiative was introduced to incorporate Hall Councils for each Living Learning Center to get more resident student involvement. With the incorporation of Hall Councils, RHA has grown from five members in the past to approximately 30 active members in the organization. Continue reading

During Mass on Sunday, March 11, the annual Officer Installation Ceremony was held. The new officers of the Student Government Association, SGA Senate, Duquesne Program Council, Commuter Council, Resident Hall Association, Class Councils and Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils were installed. A celebratory brunch followed, where former student leader and Duquesne alumnus, Susannah Hoang, Senior Compliance Lead for ALCOA, offered an inspirational message to our new student leaders.
