On Nov. 1, 2014, the Sigma Nu fraternity hosted their annual philanthropic event, White Rose Ball. This event has become a Duquesne tradition that includes a sit-down dinner, a silent auction and the crowning of a queen. This year’s White Rose Ball Queen was Alpha Phi’s representative, Camella Botti-Schwartz. Chairman Brian Bost and the brothers of Sigma Nu fraternity hosted the 8th annual White Rose Ball on Nov. 9, 2013 in the Student Union Ballroom. The event was a success in honoring and raising money for the Gold Star Mothers of America. During the evening’s festivities, Brooke Mendoff of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority won the honor of being crowned as the White Rose Ball Queen.
