Duquesne University Volunteers

This December, Duquesne University Volunteers (DUV) is sponsoring campus efforts to support the Brashear Association and also the Hill House with their Angel Tree and also with Holiday Helpings.

The Angel Tree provides toys, books, and clothing to children at the two community groups. Holiday Helpings enables individuals to collect non-perishable food stuffs, and also Giant Eagle gift cards to provide families at both Brashear Association pantries with holiday meals.

November 29, the first of several campus efforts to provide Hurricane Sandy victims with campus support occurred with a Spaghetti Dinner generous donated by Aramark. Over 100 students attended the meal and volunteered to help serve their peers and learn more about the devastation which has racked the Eastern Seaboard since the hurricane and several severe winter storms. More campus efforts are being planned for Spring 2013 for students who are from affected communities to continue to educate their Duquesne campus peers.
