During Mass on Sunday, March 11, the annual Officer Installation Ceremony was held.  The new officers of the Student Government Association, SGA Senate, Duquesne Program Council, Commuter Council, Resident Hall Association, Class Councils and Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils were installed. A celebratory brunch followed, where former student leader and Duquesne alumnus, Susannah Hoang, Senior Compliance Lead for ALCOA, offered an inspirational message to our new student leaders. Cookout on the Commons April 20th


Cookout on the Commons is an annual tradition hosted by the Office of Residence Life and Campus Ministry. This year’s cookout will take place on April 20 at 1 p.m. on the Assumption Commons. There will be live music, smoothies and of course food! Take a break from studying and enjoy the afternoon on the Bluff with your friends at this year’s cookout.

  • Saturday, May 5, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 6  – CLOSED

Swipe card access will be from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. on Monday, April 23, and 5 p.m. – 8 a.m. Monday – Friday and all day and night on the weekend.

Caitlyn Depp received the 2012 Newman Civic Fellow.  This award honors student leaders committed to creating lasting change and is named for Dr. Frank Newman, one of Campus Compact’s founders, who was a tireless advocate for the role of higher education in preparing students for active and engaged citizenship.

“It’s Your Time: Capture The Moment!” has been selected as the theme for Duquesne University’s 2012 Orientation. A year-long effort, the Orientation staff is preparing for Orientation Week, Aug. 22-26.  Summer mailing responses will be done online.

Last year’s Orientation program received two awards for Outstanding Use of Theme and Outstanding Novelty Item at the 34th annual National Orientation Directors Association Conference.
