This Christmas season the Division of Student Life partnered with Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh to offer staff members the opportunity to participate in hands-on service projects throughout the week of December 10. On Monday, staff joined the fun at St. Joseph’s House of Hospitality on Bedford Avenue. Staff baked cookies, served lunch, distributed gift bags and even sang a few Christmas Carols! On Tuesday, help was provided to the Stuff-a-Backpack project. Staff donated backpacks, which they stuffed with materials to be distributed to families in need in the community. Wednesday through Friday, staff served as Santa’s helpers at Catholic Charities downtown to sort more than 650 gifts that will be distributed for the 2012 Christmas season. Through these “5 Days of Giving” the staff members of Student Life hope to make a difference in the community and help spread some Christmas cheer that will last throughout the year!
