Griggs was instrumental in working with the foundation to establish the camp and construct the curriculum at Duquesne. Every semester, middle school students from a Pittsburgh Public School spend eight weeks on campus, working with Duquesne professional staff and students to learn to use software and to assemble computers. After successfully completing the program, students receive free computers in a special ceremony involving the Bettis Foundation and family.

To date, nearly 100 local students have completed the program.

This semester, the program is working with students from the Pittsburgh King Pre K-8 Accelerated Learning Academy on the city’s North Side.
