2010 Power Ball Honors Women of Distinction

Three honorees will be recognized with Women of Distinction Awards at the 2010 Power Ball, the annual fundraising event of the Women’s Advisory Board.

The third annual Women of Distinction Awards will be presented at the Saturday, Nov. 6, event in the Power Center Ballroom to:

  • Bethany Friday Bovay, a member of Duquesne’s Athletic Hall of Fame
  • Dr. Patricia Gussin, physician, researcher and author who, with her husband Robert, endowed the Robert and Patricia Gussin Spiritan Division of Academic Programs
  • Christine Jordanoff, professor of music education who has served as artistic director and conductor of the Children’s Festival Chorus of Pittsburgh since 1986.

This special evening will include cocktails, dinner, silent auctions, dancing to Mike Tomaro and the Duquesne University Jazz Ensemble, and a performance by the 2010 Undergraduate Music Competition winner, saxophonist Devin DiMauro.

Proceeds from the Power Ball will benefit the music scholarship program, the School of Education, the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences and other philanthropic activities at the University.
