Faculty & Staff Spotlight

Dr. Ronald C. Arnett, professor, and Dr. Erik A. Garrett, assistant professor, both of the Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies, served on a panel after the screening of Writing on the Wall: Remembering the Berlin Wall on Oct. 15 at CAPA High School. This observation of Homeless Children’s Awareness Week was sponsored by the Homeless Children’s Education Fund.

Dr. Aleem Gangjee, Distinguished Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and holder of the Adrian Van Kaam Chair, delivered a presentation on Synthesis, Evaluation and SAR of FR and PFT Specific Antitumor Agents at the third International Symposium on Folate Receptors and Transports from Oct. 12 to 15 in Zion National Park, Utah.

Dr. Kent Moors, political science professor, recently returned from a series of national and international speaking engagements. On Sept. 17, he presented Shale Gas Policy Changes: The North American Experience before the Polish government session on The Case for Unconventional Gas Exploration in Poland meeting in Krakow. From Sept. 21-25, he presented at a five-session workshop conducted by The Energy Small-Cap Summit on the Island Princess Cruise Ship between Vancouver and Los Angeles. On Sept. 27, he presented the keynote, The Natural Gas Revolution, before the Western Utilities Executive Conference in Pebble Beach, Calif. On Sept. 28, he presented the keynote, Meeting the Oil Challenge, before the annual meeting of the Arkansas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association in Little Rock.

Dr. John E. Murray Jr., chancellor and professor of law, served on a panel discussing Civil Discourse at a symposium held at Mount Aloysius College on Sept. 16. Murray’s presentation was broadcast statewide by PCN on Oct. 15.
