Training, Wellness in Motion Offer Opportunities to Learn and Cope

Employees can build their network, learn to balance life and work and stay healthier through upcoming wellness and training programs.

  • Duquesne’s Employee Assistance Program offers solutions and resources to better navigate work, health and life. Lunchtime information sessions are held on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 12:15 p.m. or 12:40 p.m. in room 608 of Libermann Hall.
  • Learn how to read labels and make sensible food substitutions for better health, nourishing the body and mind through Stress-Resilient Nutrition, a free wellness workshop on Thursday, Nov. 17, from noon to 1 p.m. in room 205 of the Power Center.
  • Employees can learn how to promote their skills and performance through networking. The benefits are explained during Speed Duquesning, offered on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., room 608, Union. It will be repeated on the first Wednesday of each month through April 4.
  • The holiday season can be a time of too much eating and not enough exercise.  “Maintain, DON’T GAINSMis an eight-week newsletter that focuses on weight management during the holidays. It offers tips and recipes for healthy cooking, and ideas for stress management and physical activity.

Duquesne’s Mixed Bowling League had its first outing on October 19.  Men and women, employees, retirees and spouses are welcome to join in for the rest of the season—every other Wednesday at 6 p.m., through March 2012.
