Founders Week Continues Thursday-Sunday: Masses, Lunch & Learns, Spiritan Reception

Celebrate Spiritan Heritage and Spiritan Mission Today as Founders Week continues Thursday through Sunday.

The annual celebration across campus that honors the legacy, vision and values of the Spiritans features presentations focusing on how students, faculty, staff and other partners advance the Spiritan mission of service around the world.

Here’s how to learn more and participate:

  • On Thursday, observe the feast day of Venerable Francis Liebermann, co-founder of the Spiritan Congregation, at a noon Mass with the Rev. John Fogarty, C.S.Sp., provincial superior of the Spiritan United States Province. Stay for lunch at 12:45 p.m. and learn about the Spiritan mission and the ecumenical project with the Rev. Elochukwu Uzukwu, C.S.Sp., the Fr. Pierre Schouver Endowed Chair in Mission.
  • On Friday, have lunch at noon and hear a presentation about Spiritan service in Haiti by Richard Gosser, lay Spiritan and executive director of Partners in Progress. At 4 p.m., attend a prayer service in Trinity Hall Chapel followed by a reception with the Spiritans.
  • On Saturday and Sunday, attend weekend liturgies in the University chapel with the Rev. Daniel Walsh, C.S.Sp., pastor of St. Stephen Parish in Hazelwood, where Duquesne is involved in several ongoing community projects.

An RSVP via DORI for each lunch presentation is appreciated.
