School of Pharmacy Hosts 10th Annual White Coat Ceremony

More than 500 family members and friends gathered in the Union Ballroom on Aug. 28 for the 10th annual White Coat Ceremony. Hosted by the Mylan School of Pharmacy, the ceremony serves to mark a pharmacy student’s first year of professional study as pharmacists.

At the event, 207 students recited a pledge of professionalism and were presented with white coats that they will wear during their laboratory work and experiential education.

Craig G. Cochenour, a shareholder of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, delivered the keynote address at the White Coat Ceremony. A registered pharmacist, Cochenour is a 1981 graduate of the Mylan School of Pharmacy and a 1988 graduate of Duquesne’s School of Law. His practice of law is focused on the domestic and international procurement and enforcement of patent and other intellectual property rights.
