Faculty & Staff Spotlight

Drs. Jill Perry, Rick McCown and Gretchen Generett, all of the School of Education, were at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching at Stanford University on Oct. 18-19 to attend the inaugural Carnegie Explorers Workshop. The three represented the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) at the workshop, which focused on the application of improvement science in education. Duquesne houses the national headquarters of CPED, which is directed by Perry. The University’s Ed.D. program in educational leadership–the Professional Doctorate in Educational Leadership (ProDEL) program–is recognized as a model program within the CPED consortium of 56 universities.

Dr. John Stolz, professor of biological sciences and director of the Center for Environmental Research and Education, presented Impacts of Unconventional Shale Gas Drilling on Oct. 22 at The College of Wooster.
