Get Fit in 2013 with Help of Wellness Programs

Eat healthier. Exercise More. Quit Smoking.

Employees returning to work armed with resolutions to make the next 365 days healthier than the last will find support through the University New Year, New Goals wellness campaign.

Developed as part of the Wellness in Motion initiative, these programs and services educate employees on how to eat right, prevent disease, begin an exercise program and stay well mentally, financially and spiritually in the new year.

Adam Wasilko, resident director, will discuss how to live out the Spiritan mission at the Libermann Luncheon on Tuesday, Jan. 15. His talk, Motivated by Mission, is scheduled at noon in the Africa Room. RSVP to Mary Beth Calorie by this Friday, Jan. 11, to attend.

Additional Lunch and Learn programs will be held at noon in Room 205 of the Power Center, featuring these topics:

  • How to Begin an Exercise Program, Tuesday, Jan. 22,
  • How to Get Financially Fit: Personal Budgeting 101, Wednesday, Jan 23
  • Eating Healthy on Campus, Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Employees are invited to bring a bag lunch and to register in Training Tracker.

Employees interested in smoking cessation programs or in preventive care screenings, can schedule free, one-on-one appointments at the Center for Pharmacy Care. Appointments will be available through the end of February by calling 412.396.2155.

In addition, employees can chart their participation in a Wellness in Motion log and compete for gift card drawings.
