Fall Open House Expected to Attract Thousands

Duquesne is getting ready for an estimated 2,300 campus visitors who will attend the 2013 Fall Open House.

This annual recruitment event, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 15, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., gives high school seniors and their families a chance to explore campus and learn about the majors, living arrangements and recreational opportunities that Duquesne offers.

A complimentary breakfast starts the day, followed by a walking tour of campus and an opportunity to meet representatives from all schools of study. The Fall Open House schedule also includes formal presentations about academics, financial aid and careers.

Staffed display tables along Academic Walk, each devoted to an organization, major or activity, provide visitors with details about living and learning at Duquesne as well the opportunity to interact with faculty, staff and current students.

With the involvement and support of the 10 schools of study and nearly all of Duquesne’s offices and departments, the Office of Admissions organizes Fall Open House, which along with Duquesnefest, the early summer event designed for soon-to-be high school seniors, provides the chance for prospective students and their families to learn about the University in an enjoyable and relaxing way.

Fall Open House is free, but registration is required. Visit the Fall Open House or call 412.396.6197 for more information.
