Another Dining Option: Parkhurst Pilots a Chobani Yogurt Bar

A new addition to the Options Food Court is the Chobani Creations Yogurt Bar, which is a pilot program being offered by Parkhurst operations.

“We thought it would be a great fit for Duquesne as the campus values healthy options and variety, and the Chobani bar provides both,” said Carrie MacDonald, marketing manager for Parkhurst.

“Chobani contacted us to pilot their yogurt bar,” said Chris Hall, general manager for retail operations for Parkhurst at Duquesne. “They wanted to pilot the program in a large university setting and are also piloting the program at Ohio State University, but this is the first Chobani bar among Parkhurst operations.”

The pay-by-weight, self-serve parfait bar features authentic strained Greek yogurt and delicious natural toppings inspired by Chobani SoHo, the brand’s Mediterranean yogurt bar in New York City.

Combinations include:

  • Fat-free and low-fat plain and vanilla Chobani Greek Yogurt
  • Grains, including graham cracker crumbs, bran flakes, organic oat and honey granola
  • Seasonal fruit, such as pineapple, blueberries and strawberries
  • Specialty toppings, from toasted coconut, sunflower seeds and slice almonds to dark chocolate chips.

The choice of combinations adds up to many variations for a tasty meal or snack.

According to a Chobani spokesperson, the brand is committed to providing nutritious products made with only real fruit and natural ingredients to deliver delicious, preservative-free yogurt, something everyone can enjoy.

The Chobani Creations Yogurt Bar is open the same hours as the Options Food court on the fifth floor of the Union: Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
