Exhibit Highlights African-Americans’ Experience with Disability Throughout History

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology invites the University community to the exhibit: African-Americans and the Disability Experience: From Colonial Times, Desegregation, Advocacy and Achievement.

This five-panel exhibit, which highlights the perspective of African-Americans in relation to their experience with disability, is on display in the sixth floor lobby of Fisher Hall through Saturday, April 12. The panels cover the first African slaves brought to colonial America, Brown vs. Board, civil rights and medical accomplishments.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Disabilities Across the World course taught by Dr. Megan Overby, associate professor of Speech-Language Pathology.
