Mayor to Keynote, Faculty to Be Honored at Law Alumni Dinner

Two faculty members and two outstanding alumni will be honored at the upcoming 62nd annual Duquesne Law Alumni Dinner, which will feature special guest speaker Pittsburgh Mayor William Peduto.

Hosted by the School of Law, the Alumni Dinner will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 11, in the Power Center Ballroom.

Peduto has been a loyal supporter of the School of Law’s Clinical Legal Education program. Through his work with the Urban Development Clinic, Peduto has shared his passion and expertise in the classroom and provided Duquesne law students with hands-on experience researching zoning issues and drafting city ordinances.

The event also will feature the presentation of awards to honor Law Professors S. Michael Streib and Mark Yochum for meritorious service; Mary Grealy as the distinguished alumna; and Nicholas J. DeIuliis for outstanding achievement.

Streib, a 1979 graduate of the law school, joined the faculty in 1981. Streib has led the law school’s trial advocacy program for several years, during which an unprecedented level of success has been achieved. In addition, he maintains a private law practice.

Yochum has taught in the law school for 30 years and specializes in bankruptcy and professional responsibility. He has published and lectured extensively on lawyers’ ethics and has presented or organized more than 200 continuing legal education (CLE) programs on related topics. Yochum launched the school’s CLE program and coordinated the programming from 1993 to 2012. He provides legal counsel to Small Business Development Center and is a past president of the Pittsburgh Tax Club. Yochum has been active in regional theater for 20 years.
