American Pharmacists Association CEO to Address Graduates

Thomas E. Menighan, executive vice president and chief executive officer of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), will deliver the keynote address at the Spring Commencement Ceremony for the Mylan School of Pharmacy at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, in the A.J. Palumbo Center.

In his role with the APhA, Menighan represents more than 62,000 practicing pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists, student pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and others interested in advancing the profession of pharmacy. Founded in 1852, the APhA is the oldest and largest pharmacy organization in the United States.

Prior to his role with the APhA, Menighan was founder and president of SynTegra Solutions in Germantown, Md. He also founded SymRx and developed CornerDrugstore.com.

Dr. Timothy Austin, provost and vice president for academic affairs, will confer the degrees at the pharmacy graduation ceremony.

A Baccalaureate Mass will precede the ceremony at 8 a.m. in the University Chapel. A reception for the more than 160 graduates, their families and friends will be held in the Union Ballroom immediately following graduation.
