Faculty & Staff Spotlight

Dr. Jack Mason, director of entrepreneurial studies, suggested that the city encourage global exportation of its strong technical, knowledge-based economy at the Aug. 6 Mayor’s CoWorking & Accelerator Roundtable. Additionally, Mason served as judge for the Aug. 8 stockholder presentations of 21 teams of high school students participating in Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week in Williamsport. The annual event  at Lycoming College and the Pennsylvania College of Technology hosts students from more than 1,000 high school across the state who work on managing businesses in a business simulation for a week.

Dr. Holly Mayer, associate professor of history, presented Community and Camp Followers during the American Revolution, a talk focusing on relationships between soldiers and civilians after the Revolutionary War, on Aug. 9 at the 250th anniversary of the Fort Pitt Museum Block House.

Dr. John Stolz, director of the Center for Environmental Research and Education, addressed questions about the impact of oil and gas drilling on Pennsylvania’s waterways in a July 30 presentation for the Rotary Club of Pittsburgh at the Omni William Penn Hotel.
