Fall Brings Range of Fitness Opportunities to Campus Community

Employees who wish to start the semester off on a healthier step can choose from more than a dozen group fitness classes ranging from restorative yoga to interval calorie training. Classes, which are held in the Power Center, are free and available to all employees.

According to Donna Steed, assistant director of human resources-benefits, group fitness classes are a fun and upbeat way for employees to work out together and stay in shape. In addition to classes conducted throughout the day to accommodate individual work schedules, employees have access to a wide array of cardio equipment, strength training machines and free weights as well as lunch-and-learn sessions and University-sponsored sport leagues.

“As part of our commitment to wellness, we strive to offer something for everyone to meet various interests and fitness levels,” said Steed.

The group fitness schedule is now available on the recreation department’s website.
