Dr. Mark Haas, professor in the political science department and the Graduate Center for Social and Public Policy, gave the keynote address Populations and Demographics at a June 18 seminar on Human Geography that was sponsored by the U.S. Military’s Joint Staff and the Applied Physics Lab at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Gerard Magill, the Vernon F. Gallagher Chair for the Integration of Science, Theology, Philosophy and Law, and a professor in the Center for Healthcare Ethics, co-presented Religion, Ethics and Dying: Controversies and Perspectives, at the Old Dominion University Institute for Jewish Studies and Interfaith Understanding in Norfolk, Va., on Sept. 4. Additionally, he delivered a Sept. 4 address on Informed Consent to pediatric residents from Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk. Magill also shared his end-of-life presentation at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish in the Diocese of Richmond, Va., on Sept. 5.
