Grants Received

Funds totaling $274,171 were recently received by the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, the Learning Skills Center, the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, the City Music Center and the School of Nursing.

  • Dr. Clifford Bob, Department of Political Science, McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, $90,000, from the Transatlantic Academy in the form of a fellowship for research.
  • The Learning Skills Center, $112,370, from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, to continue its Program for Academic Excellence, Dr. Judith Griggs, director of the Learning Skills Center, will be the administrator of the award.
  • Dr. Jan Janecka, Department of Biological Sciences, Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, $7,500, from the Snow Leopard Conservancy to support research under the collaborative Snow Leopard Conservation Genetics Program. Funds received to date total $17,500.
  • City Music Center, $14,301, from the Anna L. and Benjamin Perlow Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation, to support programming in the Mary Pappert School of Music. Christopher Bromley, executive director of the City Music Center, will administer the award.
  • School of Nursing, $50,000, from the Weisbrod Foundation, for a new simulation lab, the Robert and Mary Weisbrod Fundamental Skills Lab. The award will be provided in two annual installments of $25,000. Dr. Mary Ellen Glasgow and Dr. Melissa Kalarchian will administer the award.
