Wecht Institute Joins Bayer School

The Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law became part of the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences on Sept. 1.

This move better positions the institute for developing additional innovative and cooperative programs with the forensic science and law program, and the chemistry and biochemistry, biological sciences and physics departments, which are housed in the Bayer School. It will also foster new ways of thinking about forensic science and empower creativity across disciplines as the Wecht Institute and the Bayer School look toward the future.

The Wecht Institute will host its 14th annual symposium on Thursday, Oct. 30, and Friday, Oct. 31, in the Power Center on Finding Closure: The Science, Law and Politics of Cold Case Investigations.

Founded in 2000, The Cyril H. Wecht Institute is an internationally known center for research, training and professional education in applied forensic science.
