Application Deadline Approaches for Community-Engaged Teaching Fellowship

Faculty members who have experienced aligning student learning objectives with community-engaged work and effective learning assessments are encouraged to apply for a Gaultier Community-Engaged Teaching Fellowship.

Sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Center for Community-Engaged Teaching and Research (CETR), the $4,000 award supports Gaultier Teaching Fellows sharing their effective teaching strategies with their peers as part of ongoing faculty development and serving in the role of consultants. Up to five fellows will be selected from full- and part-time, tenure- and non-tenure track faculty who have taught service-learning classes, said Dr. Lina Dostilio, director of CETR.

In the 2015-2016 academic year, these fellows will model aligned course design and share their expertise as part of faculty development events and other opportunities.

Besides serving as a primary consultation corps for emerging community-engaged teachers, fellows will attend the center’s annual writing retreat to leverage their fellowship into a scholarly product that might be shared beyond Duquesne.

Applications, which must include a letter of support from department chairs, are due by Sunday, March 15.
