Dr. Jotham Parsons, associate professor of history, wrote Making Money in Sixteenth-Century France, a book about the creation and circulation of currency in France, recently published by Cornell University Press. Parsons looks at the emergence of the Cour des Monnaies, which centralized monetary administration and played an important role in developing contemporary understanding of money.
