Grants Received

Funds totaling $75,863 were recently received by the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, the School of Nursing and the School of Education.

  • The McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, $50,000, from the Phillip H. and Betty L. Wimmer Family Foundation for a Faculty Enrichment Program. Liberal Arts Dean Dr. James Swindal will administer the award.
  • Dr. Michael Jensen-Seaman, associate professor of biological sciences, Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, $12,605, from the Hunkele Dreaded Disease Research Award for Human Allelic Variation in Relaxin Gene Expression. The award will extend through February 2017.
  • Dr. Matthew Bundick, assistant professor in the Department of Counseling, Psychology and Special Education, School of Education, $11,502, from the John Templeton Foundation through a subcontract with Clark University for How Service Learning Influences Youth Purpose Around the World.
  • Dr. Melissa Kalarchian, associate dean for research, School of Nursing, $1,756, from the National Institutes of Health through a subcontract with the University of Pittsburgh for A Randomized Trial to Compare Surgical and Medical Treatments for Type 2 Diabetes.
