Rice Lecture Series Continues with Community Conversations in the Hill District

The 2015 Rice on the Road Lecture Series will continue with Community Revitalization: Four Points of View ­on Wednesday, April 8, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Thelma Lovette YMCA, located at 2114 Centre Avenue in the Hill District.

Transportation and lunch will be provided for participants, who will have the opportunity to engage in small group conversations with community leaders about education, health and well-being, economic growth and community greenspace. Carl Redwood of the Hill District Consensus Group and Gavin White of the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy will be among the community stakeholders at the event.

The four-part Rice on the Road series is a collaborative effort between the Center for the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, the Division of Mission and Identity, and the Center for Community-Engaged Teaching and Research. This year’s series theme is focused on community healing and revitalization.

The series will conclude on Tuesday, April 14, with Trauma-Informed Community Development and Revitalization in the Power Center Ballroom.
