Funds totaling $35,000 were awarded to the Mylan School of Pharmacy, the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts and the Rangos School of Health Sciences.

  • Terri Kroh, director of the Duquesne University Pharmacy, $5,000 from the Portiuncula Foundation for the Duquesne Pharmacy Community Outreach Initiative.
  • Dr. Darlene Weaver and Dr. Elizabeth Cochran, both associate professors of theology, $20,000 from the Lilly Endowment via the Wabash Center, for the research project, Can Virtue Be Learned? An Exploration of Student Learning Experiences Using Select Pedagogies and Their Implications for Fostering Altruism, Compassion and Solidarity as Learning Outcomes in Undergraduate Ethics Courses.
  • Dr. Jaime Muñoz, chair of occupational therapy, and Dr. Anne Marie Hansen, adjunct professor, $10,000 from the Frederic W. Sammons Family Foundation, to support Hansen’s work with occupational therapists in East Africa. Muñoz will oversee the funds.
