Men’s Basketball Coach Granted Contract Extension

Head men’s basketball coach Jim Ferry, who is beginning his fourth season at Duquesne, has been granted a contract extension.

Ferry led the team to wins in six of its final 12 games in 2014-15, including Duquesne’s third Atlantic 10 Championship first round win in 20 years.

“I’d like to thank Dr. Dougherty, the Board of Directors and the administration for the extension,” said Ferry. “My family and I are honored to have the opportunity to continue working at what is truly a great institution. We’ve made significant strides in solidifying the program over the past couple of seasons and look forward to the future. My staff and I are driven to bringing the program all the way back and appreciate the support of the administration.”

The Duquesne roster, which has been completely retooled by Ferry and his staff during his three-year tenure, features eight lettermen—including four returning starters—in 2015-16.

The Dukes tip-off the 2015-16 season—the 100th in University history—on Friday, Nov. 13.
