Grants Received

Funds totaling $346,510 were awarded to the School of Nursing, the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, and the Mylan School of Pharmacy.

  • School of Nursing, $335,010, Year 2 funding, from the Health Resources and Services administration, a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, for Nurse Education, Practice, Quality and Retention—Veterans’ Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. Dr. Mark Crider, assistant professor of nursing and chair of undergraduate nursing programs, principal investigator, will administer the award. Total anticipated funding for three years will amount to $915,042.
  • Dr. Fatiha Benmokhtar, assistant professor of physics, $1,500 in additional funding on a subcontract from the Jefferson Laboratory, bringing the total award amount to $23,695 with funds provided by the U.S. Department of Energy. She will be key personnel on a project to look at commissioning and calibration procedures of the CLAS12 RICH detector. The subcontract runs through May 14, 2017.
  • Dr. Jamie McConaha, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, $10,000, from Pfizer Inc., for the smoking cessation program Courage to Quit. This brings the total award amount to date to $30,000.
