Grants Received

Funds totaling $463,234 were recently received by the Counseling Center, the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences and the School of Education.

  • Dr. Maria Clara Kreis, assistant director of the Counseling Center, $390,000, from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, to develop a manual to support the use of an instrument known as the Satisfaction Scale for Apostolic Women Religious. This will support a translation of the instrument and manual into Spanish, addressing concerns of the youngest and Spanish-speaking generation of women who are or have joined religious life within the last five years. The award expends until Dec. 31, 2018.
  • Dr. Allyson O’Donnell, assistant professor of biological sciences, a $49,034 sub-award from a National Institutes of Health grant awarded to the University of Pittsburgh, for Endoplasmic Reticulum Associated Degradaton (ERAD) of Membrane Proteins in Yeast.
  • Dr. Melissa Boston, $24,200, Department of Instruction and Leadership in Education, from Intermediate Unit 1, Coal Center, Pa., for an external evaluation of the unit’s Center for STEM Education Math-Science Partnership Grant.
