‘Stand Up for Homeless Children’ Planned for Tuesday

Members of the campus community will again gather on Academic Walk to raise awareness of the educational issues facing homeless children in Allegheny County.

Working with the Homeless Children’s Education Fund, the communications class of Dr. Inci Ozum Sayrak has spearheaded Stand Up for Homeless Children, which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m.

Participants will stand in silence for 15 minutes for those who have no voice, while holding images of faces that represent the more than 2,900 children experiencing homelessness in Pittsburgh.

This Stand Up for Homeless Children is scheduled in conjunction with Homeless Children’s Awareness Week which takes place from Sunday, Oct. 18, through Sunday, Oct. 25.
