Dr. Gerald Boodoo, director of the Center for African Studies and associate theology professor, presented a paper at the 18th Conference on Catholic Theology in the Caribbean Today held in Marisule, St. Lucia, on June 12.

Candace King Williams, administrative assistant to the president, participated in the United States of Women Summit hosted by the White House on June 14. Williams was invited to attend the Summit in Washington, D.C. for her work as founder of the Beautiful, Brown, BOLD Women Project and her commitment to the African American community in the city of Pittsburgh.

Dr. John Viator, director of the Biomedical Engineering program, presented Photoacoustic Detection of Circulating Tumor Cells in Blood Samples of Stage III Melanoma Patients on June 4 at the annual conference of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in Chicago.
