Student Organization Advisors Needed

The Center for Student Involvement is recruiting interested members of the faculty and staff to consider volunteering as a student organization advisor.

All student organizations at Duquesne are required to have a full-time faculty or staff member serve as an advisor in order to be recognized. There are more than 200 student organizations on campus, and recently several of these groups have lost their advisors.

Advisors are an integral part of the organization structure, as this individual provides support and guidance to student members. While student organizations often solicit their own advisors, in recent years, they have requested assistance from the Center for Student Involvement to help find faculty and staff members.

In addition, the Center for Student Involvement provides support for advisors through workshops, eat and greets, monthly newsletters and other opportunities.

Interested faculty and staff are asked to complete a brief interest survey at http://studentvoice.com/duq/advisorinterest to help the Center for Student Involvement understand one’s interests, areas of expertise and level of time commitment in order to find appropriate advisors for student groups.
