Campus United Way Campaign is Underway

It’s that time of year again when members of Duquesne University community are asked to help make a positive, lasting impact in the lives of those in need through the campus’ United Way Campaign.

“Each year, we see the generosity of our employees through volunteering and financial giving,” said Russ Grunebach, assistant vice president for finance and business, who is chair of the 2016 campus campaign. “Our financial goal this year is to raise $94,000 through employee giving and another $14,000 through special events.”

The fundraising goal was announced at the Sept. 15 Kickoff Breakfast for campaign team members who have volunteered to educate and coordinate donors in their respective departments, schools and offices.

Online donations can be made via Duquesne’s United Way website. Employees have the opportunity to support the United Way Impact Fund, which attends to the biggest areas of concern in Allegheny County, and gifts can also be designated to support crucial efforts in and around a donor’s community.
