School of Law’s Book Event Centers Around Local Murder Case

The cyanide poisoning death of local physician Dr. Autumn Klein by her husband Dr. Robert Ferrante made national headlines in 2013. The tragic murder is the focus of a new book by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Paula Reed Ward, who will discuss the case at an upcoming law school program.

Paula Reed Ward

Ward will talk about her book, Death by Cyanide: The Murder of Dr. Autumn Klein, at a special author program and book signing on Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 303 of the School of Law. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at a special price at the event.

The free event, which is open to the public, is co-sponsored by the law school’s Criminal Justice Program and the Criminal Law Association.

Ward, who first joined the Post-Gazette in 2003, covered the first-degree murder trial for the paper. Death by Cyanide, which has already received positive reviews, is available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble, among other book sellers.
