The Counseling and Wellbeing Center is hosting a mindfulness chanting session in conjunction with both the Advent season as preparation for the coming of Christ and the end of the current semester and its related stresses.

Students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to take a break on Monday, Dec. 5, from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Interfaith Meditation Room (Room 637, Fisher Hall), where they can center and refocus as they prepare for final exams and listen or join in with the music and chanting.

“Chanting offers an alternative way of being present in and to the world,” said Dr. Maria Clara Kreis, assistant director and outreach coordinator of the Counseling and Wellbeing Center. “Chanting allows one to let go and let come what is gently emerging. If we are open and present to the here and now, then new insights will guide us and we know in a new way what is really important to us.”
