Grants Received

Funds totaling $365,566 were recently received by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, the Mylan School of Pharmacy and the School of Education.

  • SBDC, $13,200, from the Small Business Administration, passed through the University of Pennsylvania, to be used for public service. Dr. Mary McKinney, director of the SBDC, will administer the award.
  • Abigail Cox, student, working with Dr. Benedict Kolber, assistant professor, Department of Biological Sciences, $1,000, from the Beta Beta Beta Research Foundation, for Investigating Presynaptic Origins of Central Amygdala Lateralization in Bladder Pain Processing.
  • Dr. Carl Anderson, associate professor of pharmaceutics, Mylan School of Pharmacy, $26,366, from the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology and Education, for the development of learning modules and assessments.
  • Dr. Temple Lovelace, associate professor, school of education, $325,000, from the Heinz Endowments, for an educational incubation and design space that supports school-based projects rooted in STEAM disciplines and a youth and teacher leadership program that highlights community-school partnerships.
