‘20 Dinners’ is Effort to Welcome International Students to Campus

The Office of International Programs has been working hard to make international students feel welcomed and included within the Duquesne community, and a new initiative will bring them into the homes of faculty and staff.

‘20 Dinners’ is an effort to organize 20 in-home dinners for international students, hosted by faculty and staff.

“We believe that inviting our international students in for a home-cooked meal is a great way to show them hospitality, letting them know that they are truly welcome here,” said Joe DeCrosta, director of the Office of International Programs. “These in-home dinners will give our international students an opportunity to get to know faculty and staff on a more personal level and see what life is like in an American home.”

Participating faculty and staff members will be asked to host international students in their home for one meal—or more than one if they choose—during the week of Monday, April 17.

RSVP to indicate your interest and availability by Friday, March 24.

If you are not available to host students this April but would like to host in the future, please contact Rachael English in the Office of International Programs at 412.396.6113 or english6@duq.edu.
