Philosophical Understandings of Life the Focus of Upcoming Conference

Duquesne Women in Philosophy has built the agenda for their fourth annual conference around conceptual discussions of life itself.

Running over the course of two days from Friday, March 24, to Saturday, March 25, in Room 505, Rockwell Hall, Critical Philosophies of Life features nine roundtable discussions and presentations culminating with a keynote address from Dr. Cynthia Willett, the Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Philosophy and interim director of graduate studies in the Department of Philosophy at Emory University. Willett’s presentation The Belly Laugh: A Catharsis of Slut Shame and Other Negative Emotions will be held on Saturday from 3:35 to 5:30 p.m. before the conference’s closing dinner.
