Faculty & Staff Spotlight

Dr. Caron Daley, director and assistant professor of choral activities, was chosen to be a Fellow of the International Conductor’s Exchange Program, run by the American Choral Director’s Association. As a part of the fellowship, Daley traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina in May to work with choirs and conduct masterclasses and workshops with students.

Brendan Kepple, associate classroom technologist, is one of this year’s finalists for the 2017 Sonic Foundry Enterprise Video Awards for a video he produced about the use of Mediasite, a communication tool that permits the real time broadcast of decisions by world leaders to participating countries.

Dr. James Purdy, associate professor and director of the University Writing Center, gave the keynote presentation Literacies in a Digital World: Approaches to Teaching Tomorrow’s Digital Scholar and conducted the workshop Literacies in a Digital World: Working with the Pedagogical Possibilities at Nassau Community College’s Faculty Development Day on April 21.
